Callers reported smoke coming from a house on May 29th, prompting the Cedar Grove Fire Department to react to a reported residential structure fire.

Firefighters arrived at about 7:18 p.m., according to officials, and promptly verified that the fire was operational. To make sure the fire was completely put out, crews stretched handlines, set up a water supply, carried out main searches, carried out vertical ventilation operations, and finished a thorough overhaul.

While personnel remained dedicated to the event, mutual aid agencies supplied fire protection coverage for the township and helped at the scene.
