Avenel Firefighters Provide Coverage During Route 287 Tanker Fire

While local personnel worked at a tanker truck fire on Route 287 on May 17, members of Avenel Fire Department's Truck 5-2-5 were tasked with providing station coverage in Edison.


According to officials, firefighters and members of the Fords Fire Company were on standby at Edison Fire Station 4 to guarantee that the neighborhood had access to emergency service during the crisis.


The assignment emphasized the value of regional collaboration and mutual aid between fire departments. While teams worked at the tanker fire scene, firemen made sure that other emergency calls in Edison could be handled without interruption by offering coverage.
