HANSON, MA - On the evening of Wednesday, May 31st, the Hanson Fire Department held a swearing-in ceremony for new Fire Chief Rob O’Brien and new Deputy Fire Chief Charley Barends. Chief O’Brien takes over for retired Chief Jerome Thompson, and Deputy Chief Barends will take the spot vacated by Chief O’Brien. Two new Lieutenants, Tyler Bryant and Tom “TJ” White have started in their new roles, filling spots vacated by Barrends and retired Lieutenant Kevin Mossman. A formal swearing-in for the Lieutenants is scheduled for a later date.
