Fire Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore, First Deputy Commissioner Daniel Flynn and Chief of Department John Esposito, presided over a promotion ceremony for 169 members at St John’s University. One Deputy Chief was promoted to Deputy Assistant Chief, four Battalion Chiefs were promoted to Deputy Chief, five Captains were promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief, 31 Lieutenants were promoted to the rank of Captain as well as 99 Firefighters promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Also promoted were 25 Firefighters who will be promoted to the rank of Fire Marshal, three Firefighters will be promoted to the rank of Marine Wiper, and one Firefighter will be promoted to the rank of Marine Pilot.
