At 1:35 PM on Tuesday, 4/19/2022 the Occum Fire Department was dispatched to 63 Taftville Occum Road for a car fire. Engine 42 arrived at 1:41 reporting a fully involved car spreading to a pickup truck. Engine 42’s crew stretched the 1.75” front bumper line and prevented the fire from spreading to a third vehicle. At 1:45 Car 40 requested a truck out of Taftville for manpower. Engine 41 arrived next and tied into Engine 42. Car 4 reported the fire knocked down at 1:53 and cancelled Taftville. The Norwich Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
