Stephentown Firefighters Make Fast Work of Adams Road House Fire

On February 17, 2023, at 3:36 PM, The Stephentown Fire Department along with the Stephentown Ambulance was dispatched for a reported structure fire at 28 Adams Road. The caller a neighbor stated his neighbor walk to his house and stated his house was on fire.


Stephentown car one notified the dispatcher that he was in route, and he had smoke showing in the distance in the valley to place the Berlin Fire Department on standby. The first arriving chief on scene had smoke showing from the structure and fire showing from one of the windows. Command had the ambulance divert to the fire victim's location and command requested the Hoosick Fire Department and Petersburgh Fire Department to the scene along with the Berlin Fire Department. Firefighters quickly arrived on scene and deployed an inch and three-quarter hand line to the rear door and made entry and quickly knocked down the fire.



Additional resources quickly arrived on scene and began to conduct overhaul in the living room area of the home. Command was notified that the fire victim that walked nearly a mile to the neighbor's home was transported to the hospital for injuries from the fire. Firefighters continued to conduct overhaul on scene for an extended period of time. Taconic Valley Ambulance was placed on standby at the scene. Fire Investigator’s arrived on scene and began to conduct their investigation into the cause of the fire. The home suffered extensive damage from the fire. No injuries of any firefighters were reported. The fire is actively under investigation at this time.
