Police Investigate Serious MVA on River Rd. in New Windsor

NEW WINDSOR, NY - On March 16th at 8:06 A.M., the New Windsor Police Department responded to the area of 1196 River Road for a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers discovered a head-on collision had occurred, causing several serious injuries.
An operator of one of the vehicles involved was trapped inside of the vehicle and had to be extricated and subsequently airlifted to Westchester Medical Center. The New Windsor Volunteer Fire Department handled the extrication and the Vails Gate Fire Department assisted in establishing a landing zone.
Four other subjects involved were transported via New Windsor Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps to St. Luke’s Hospital. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
