High Angle Rescue in Fall River

Fall River, Ma. At approximately 9:20 am. on March 4th. Firefighters responded to 198 Tecumseh Street for a reported worker down on scaffolding above the second floor. Heavy Rescue 1, Ladders 2 and 4, Car 3 and Engine 4 responded. On arrival Command learned the worker had somehow come in contact with a power line and was unresponsive. The crews went to work setting up for a high angle rescue using the aerial ladder to deliver the stokes basket to the scaffolding and carefully lower the worker to the waiting paramedics on the ground to treat and transport the injured man. Unfortunately the worker succumbed to his injuries while at a local hospital.
