BINGHAMTON, NY - On February 19th, hundreds of firefighters from across the region gathered at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Binghamton to pay their respects to fallen city firefighter, John "JR" Gaudet, 40. Gaudet was killed February 12th, after a wall fell on him while battling a 3-alarm fire on Main Street. Two other firefighters were also injured in the blaze. He was an 11-year veteran of the BFD, assigned to the Heavy Rescue Squad. JR is survived by his wife, Felly, their three children Charles, Vanessa and Michael, his parents and sister, Katie.
