Fatal MVA on I-84 in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - On February 20th, Good Will and Cronomer Valley fire departments responded to a MVA with rollover and entrapment on Interstate 84 at mile marker 38.4. Town of Newburgh PD and EMS were also at the scene. The passenger of the vehicle was transported to Montefiore-St. Luke's Hospital by Town of Newburgh EMS. New York State Police responded to the scene and confirmed that the driver was deceased. Once the Medical Examiner arrived, Jaws and cutting tools were used to cut the roof and doors from the vehicle to remove the driver's body. Interstate 84 had one lane going westbound during the investigation. New York State Police officers are investigating the cause.
