(OCALA, FL.) Jan. 24, 2025 – Early this morning, Ocala Fire Rescue responded to a fire in a Marion County enclave at the 4000 block of NW Blitchton Road. The call came in at 1:50 a.m. after passersby reported visible flames from SR 27.

Engines 1 and 4, Rescue 1, Tower 1, Ladder 3, and Battalion Chief 11 were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, OFR's Engine 1 and Rescue 1 found a one-story structure with flames and heavy smoke coming from all windows. Due to the intensity of the fire, Engine 1 initiated a defensive attack, while Ladder 3 worked to establish a water supply.

Within one minute, fire crews had water on the fire. Rescue 1 conducted a primary search of the building to confirm that the structure, which was determined to be vacant, was unoccupied. Tower 1 performed a secondary search to further ensure no one was inside, with nothing found.

Once overhaul was completed, the scene was left with Marion County Fire Rescue’s Engine 20, Rescue 20, and Battalion Chief 5.
