House Fire Displaces Residents in Norwalk

The City of Norwalk Fire Department along with Norwalk EMS responded to a structure fire on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 8:02 am.
The fire was located at #8 Cindy Ln in a split-level ranch style home. Initial reports were for a fire in the dining room with everyone out of the building.
Upon arrival, Norwalk Engine 4 encountered smoke coming from eaves. Engine 4 was able to force entry and make their way to the dining room area where they encountered high heat and heavy fire. The fire was starting to extend out of the dining room and into other areas of the residence. While Engine 4 was extinguishing the fire, primary and secondary searches were being conducted along with both horizontal and vertical ventilation. The fire was extinguished in 30 minutes by a 1st alarm assignment consisting of 3 Engines, 2 Ladder Trucks, 1 Heavy Rescue, and the shift commander for a total of 26 personnel.
There were no reports of any injuries to any occupants or firefighters. The residence is deemed unfit for occupancy. The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
