At 10:13 pm on Wednesday, 1/8/2025 the Griswold Fire Department with Jewett City, Voluntown, Lisbon, North Stonington, Taftville FAST & American Ambulance were dispatched to the area of 48 Colonel Brown Road for a building fire.
When Car 155 signed on, QV Dispatch updated the address to be 39 Colonel Brown and that the garage was filled with machinery so he requested tankers from Preston and Plainfield. The fire marshal arrived at 10:20 with smoke showing from a 3 bay single story detached garage.
Voluntown Engine 253 arrived at 10:26 and stretched a 1.75” hose line through a garage door. Additional tankers were started from Moosup, Oneco and Canterbury. Crews fought the fire while the temperature was 19 degrees outside. Car 55 had command and the Griswold Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
