Brookhaven FD Handles Reported Structure Fire on Christmas

Shirley N.Y- On December 25, 2022 at just before 2:00 PM the Brookhaven Fire Department was
dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire on Candido Ave. Brookhaven FD Chiefs Dan DiPinto
{5-3-30} & Giuseppe Loiacono {5-3-32} responded to the scene. On arrival Assistant Chief Loiacono
advised that he had an oil burner issue in the home.
Engines 5-3-5 and 5-3-8 responded into the scene. The crews from the engines were directed to bring
fans and CO meters into the home to get readings and vent the home. Firefighters were able to
successfully shut off the oilburner and vent the home. All units were back in service in about 30
minutes.
