Car Snaps Utility Pole and Rolls Over in Salem

SALEM, CT - At 3:09 P.M. on 12/30/2024, the Salem & Gardner Lake Fire Departments, with an American Ambulance Paramedic and the CT State Police, were dispatched to the area of 302 Old Colchester Road for a car that struck a utility pole and rolled over. Ambulance 527 arrived at 3:17 P.M., reporting a car on its side and that the operator had self-extricated. Ambulance 527 began patient care while Engine 121 and Rescue 127 shut the road down and applied absorbent pads for the fluid that was leaking. Eversource remained on scene for a couple hours replacing the pole.
