Somerville, N.J. — August 7 — On Friday morning, ten Somerville Fire Department personnel trained along Brookside Avenue, Division Street, and portions of Main Street in a hose advancement drill. Firefighters concentrated on areas where the layout and distance could make it challenging to advance an attack line.

During a mock fireground operation, members rehearsed moving hoses, setting up the attack line, and cooperating. The exercise strengthened teamwork and communication while giving participants practical experience with hose movement and attack-line deployment.

The address of the Somerville Fire Department was 85 N. Gaston Ave., Somerville, N.J. 08876. Members were able to maintain equipment familiarity and develop the skills necessary for safe and efficient fireground operations through regular drills.
