Cutchogue Fire Department Awards $13,000 in Scholarships

Cutchogue, N.Y. — July 23 — The Cutchogue Fire Department has awarded $13,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors as part of its annual scholarship program supporting local students.
The department announced six $2,000 scholarships during graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2026. Five of the awards were presented in memory of Stanley Victoria and Wayne Glover, while another $2,000 scholarship honors Cutchogue Fire Department members Jason and Steven Cooper.
The Victoria-Glover Memorial Scholarship recipients are Caroline Fannon of Southold High School and Jillian Fogarty, David Fohrkolb, Amber Freeman and Firefighter Luke Mauro of Mattituck High School.
The Jason and Steven Cooper Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Ryan Harned of Mattituck High School. The award is intended for a student with an interest in the NJROTC program and was established with funds donated by the Cooper family in memory of Jason and Steven.
Additionally, four $750 scholarships were given out by the Cutchogue Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Holly Reventlow, Estefani Gomez, Ryan Harned, and Gabriella Mannino of Mattituck High School were the recipients.
Ten scholarships totaling $13,000 were given to members of the Class of 2026 by the department and Ladies Auxiliary.
The department's yearly fundraising brunch and other community fundraising initiatives have contributed to the scholarship program. Over the years, the Cutchogue Fire Department claims to have given out more than $150,000 through the Victoria-Glover scholarship program. (cutchoguefiredept.org) Following a two-year hiatus while the department built a new firehouse, the yearly scholarship breakfast was held again this year. The June 7 brunch, which raised money for the scholarship program, drew almost 200 community members. (cutchoguefiredept.org).
Local reporting also confirms Harned received the Cutchogue Fire Department Jason and Steven Cooper Memorial ROTC Scholarship, while Fannon received the Cutchogue Fire Department grant in memory of Victoria and Glover. (suffolktimes.timesreview.com)
