Ed Schneyer, a longstanding member of the Eastport Fire Department, was honored for his more than 40 years of community and departmental volunteer work.

Schneyer has been a firefighter for 44 years, having joined the department to help his neighbors. In addition to mentoring staff and assisting with departmental operations, he has held a number of leadership positions throughout his career, including Chief and Fire District Commissioner.

According to department representatives, Schneyer's devotion, expertise, and hard work have had a long-lasting effect on the Eastport Fire Department and the community it serves.
