Madawaska, ME - Madawaska Fire Department personnel, along with members from several departments, participated in a Basic Wildfire training led by the Maine Forest Service and Ranger Austin Roy.

The training combined classroom instruction with a hands-on outdoor scenario simulating a lightning strike, where firefighters were tasked with locating and extinguishing a “burning tree” using provided coordinates.

The exercise strengthened wildfire response skills and highlighted the importance of coordination and preparedness in managing wildland fire incidents.
