Members of the Berkeley Heights Fire Department celebrated Firefighter Jake Couto, a member of the Class of 2026, on his graduation from Governor Livingston High School on June 18.

According to officials, Couto shown a commitment to his studies and his community by effectively juggling the demands of becoming a fireman and finishing his high school education.

Couto intends to pursue a degree in civil engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology this autumn. His dedication, diligence, and achievements were commended by department heads, who noted that he has been an invaluable asset to the company.
