Firefighters from all around the county came together to celebrate service and sacrifice at the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office Memorial Service and Medal Day, which was attended by members of the Englishtown FD. Chief Engineer Pasquale DiBennetto, the department's lone line-of-duty fatality, was honored during the ceremony. Awards for outstanding emergency responses were also given out. Along with personnel from the Monroe Twp. Fire District #2 and Millstone Twp. FD, Lt. Jason Kole, Lt. John Spierto, FF/EMT Georgiy Zavalnik, and FF Anthony Fernandes were given a unit citation. The medal honored their achievements during a technical rescue at Millstone Twp. Middle School in March.
