East Rutherford Engine Co. 1 has placed into service a Sutphen Monarch 2000-gpm/1250-gwt rescue-pumper that has replaced a standard pumper and a rescue truck. The cab has six seats, storage space and equipment chargers. The extended front bump has a hose basket, intake and discharge gates. There are three speed lay hose beds, two rear discharge gates, and a booster reel located above the pump on the officer's side. Additional features include roll-out tool trays, swing-out tool board, wheel well storage space, portable light towers, hydraulic generator, ground ladders stored in hose bed space and one hard suction hose located on each side of the apparatus. In addition, it carries Hurst extrication tools and cribbing.
