This is a soft cover book measuring 8 ½ inches by 11 inches and has 135 pages. It is copyrighted for 2013 but I do not believe it was reviewed before in this column. Nevertheless the author by this time has been photographing for 50+ years (same as myself) and you can tell that he loves it. He is well known for books, calendars and videos some of which have been used in training. The book is entirely photos except for a dedication to a fallen firefighter from Boston who died suddenly . He was a dedicated, and high\y decorated firefighter taken too soon. May he rest in peace. All photos have been taken by the author. There is no txt other than the captions/cut lines below the photos. The table of contents include FDNY, Boston Fire, Classics, Apparatus Across America, Tillers, Second Career Apparatus, Massachusetts Fires, Fires Across America, Winter Firefighting, Truck Work, Groups, Memorials, Gone But Not Forgotten and No Words Are Needed.   The Classics are interesting apparatus from different departments. The Second Career Apparatus shows trucks in their original assignments and in their new homes. Groups involves crew and apparatus photos, Memorials are about tragedies. Gone But Not Forgotten are former firehouses now used for other purposes as well as former agencies now disbanded, former manufacturers now out of business and a photo of a Boston District Chief car from a former district. No Words are Needed is self explanatory. If you have any interest in fire scenes and apparatus, you will thoroughly enjoy this book.
