At 6:57 Thursday night 12/26/24 the Melbourne Fire Department with Melbourne Police Department were dispatched to the area of I-95 and W. Eau Gallie Blvd. for a reported aircraft down. An aircraft was located right side up in the parking lot of Renningers Flea and Farmers Market near I-95 after making an emergency landing, possibly due to mechanical failure or low fuel and was attempting to land at Melbourne Orlando International Airport. The aircraft had two souls onboard who reportedly had only minor injuries. All roads in the area were closed as the aircraft clipped a high-tension power line according to MPD. Melbourne Flight Training of Melbourne is listed as the owner of this 1979 Beech twin engine aircraft on the FAA-Registry site. The crash remains under investigation and the FAA and NTSB were notified and are assuming the investigation.
