WALTHAM, MA - On Christmas Eve, Waltham's 911 Center received a call for a house fire at 110 Barbara Road. Engines 2 and 3, Squad 5, Rescue 1, Tower 1 and Medic 2 were dispatched. Engine 3 reported smoke showing and requested a working fire. Shortly after, a second-alarm was transmitted, bringing Engines 4, 7, and 8, and Ladder 2. Heavy smoke was pouring out of the house from the fire, which had started in the basement. The fire was knocked down in about one-and-a-half-hours. The Wires Department and State Fire Marshal were requested to the scene.
