SOUND BEACH, NY - On Friday, November 1, 2024, the Sound Beach Fire Department conducted a fire prevention open house. During the event, the department emphasized the importance of closing your bedroom door before you go to sleep. Sound Beach Fire Department Ex-Chief Handshaw led the presentation. This demonstration showed how a closed door can protect you from toxic smoke and deadly flames, and also slow down the growth of a fire.
