Fall River, Ma. Five people were left homeless after a three alarm fire ripped through their home. Around 11:00 pm on Monday December 16th firefighters responded to 243 Montaup Street for a still alarm. First due companies had heavy fire venting from the six windows and front door of the home. All occupants were reported out of the house from both the first and second floor apartments. Firefighters knocked down the heavy fire with a two and one half inch attack line before chasing the fire into the house. Crews opened up walls and ceilings on both floors but could not expose all the fire and Command ordered an evacuation when the roof began to collapse.. Crews then went defensive with heavy stream appliances and a ladder pipe. Firefighters remained on scene until 7:30 am the next morning.
