Wreaths Across America convoy rolls into New Jersey

The Wreaths Across America convoy passed thru Totowa Borough on Dec. 14 and the Totowa and West Paterson Fire were on scene to greet them. National Wreaths Across America Day, with a mission to remember, honor and teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. The non-profit organization also holds ceremonies at additional locations throughout the U.S. and abroad. More than 157,000 wreaths have been sponsored, and Wreaths Across America is fundraising to purchase nearly 98,000 more.
A convoy of vehicles carrying American flags and ornate wreaths passed by on Union Blvd. as local residents waved and saluted from the sidewalks. Many were in awe of the significance of the ceremony and how important it is to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service, especially around the holidays.
