Car Drives Into Water In Mastic Beach

Mastic Beach N.Y : At approximately 8:46 Pm Thursday November 10th the Mastic Beach fire department and the Mastic Beach ambulance company were activated for a car into water with occupants within. On arrival 1st assistant Chief Jeff McGown (5-13-31) found a car fully submerged in the water and found no one inside the car and transmitted a signal 4. First unit to arrive on scene was unit 7 (5-13-7) which deployed 2 divers in the water to check the car for any occupants and found the car to be clear. Mastic Beach ambulance responded with a ambulance to standby incase there was anyone still in the car and for the divers that went into the water to search the car. Chief of department Fred Loiacono (5-13-30) arrived on scene and took over command. The scene was handed over to the Suffolk County Police Department and all units were released and back in service within 45 minutes of being activated.
