SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA - At 6:36 P.M. on Friday, November 19th, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched a structure fire assignment to 235 Main Boulevard in the Brandonville section of East Union Township for a house fire. The first-alarm included Fire Districts 9 (Sheppton-Oneida), 19 (Nuremberg-Weston), 30 (Ringtown Valley), 36 (Shenandoah Heights), 48 (Mahanoy City) and 64 (Shenandoah).
First responding units were advised of one call reporting flames from a house. Engine 9-10 and 30-15 arrived on scene to find a ranch style home with sub-grade garage with fire showing from the garage. Chief 9 assumed command and transmitted a working fire.
A crew stretched a line from 9-10 and had the fire quickly knocked down. Smoke and heat had filled the entire house and a family member was now reporting a young child may still be inside. Crews performed a search of the residence which proved that claim was inaccurate.
Ladder 64-25 laddered the building and ventilated while interior crews searched the main living floor for fire extension. The fire was placed under control within a half hour.
Crews remained on scene until a little before 9:00 P.M. to ensure that all hot spots were extinguished.
