MELBOURNE, FL - Melbourne police officers responded to the area of N. Harbor City Blvd., south of Babcock Street, for a single-vehicle crash on November 13th. The 37-year-old driver of the Dodge truck from Vero Beach had sustained life-threatening injuries and succumbed to those injuries. The diver hit a concrete power pole that landed on top of his truck, trapping him inside. After Florida Power & Light shut the grid down in the area, the Melbourne Fire Department used cribbing, air jacks to stabilize the power pole before cutting the roof off and extracting the victim.
