House Fire in Galeton Borough

GALETON BOROUGH, PA - Galeton's Goodyear Hose Co. responded to a well-involved house fire on October 20th at 10:25 A.M. on Allen Alley in Galeton Borough. Upon arrival, Galeton's Engine 10-3 stretched 2 hose lines to combat the blaze. The blaze was contained in about 20 minutes. Vince Bowen, Assistant Chief, had command of the scene and the 20 Galeton firefighters. Water supply was taken from Pine Creek. The fire departments that responded to the 2nd alarm were Westfield (Station 5), Germania (Station 19), Coudersport (Station 48), Sabinsville (Station 16), and Knoxville (Station 6). The house fire was caused by a wood burning stove, and the structure was completely destroyed. Goodyear thanks all the responding departments.
