Elmont FD Responds to Early Morning House Fire

Elmont, NY - On November 2nd at approximately 2:15 A.M., Nassau County FireCom alerted the Elmont Fire Department for a roof fire at a home on Goshen Street. Assistant Chief Robert Schriefer was first to arrive and transmitted a Signal 10. Engine 3 and Truck 1 were the first firefighting units to arrive. Truck 1 conducted a primary search and determined that all residents were out of the two-story dwelling. Fire was located in the attic in the vicinity of the second-floor bathroom. Under the command of Chief Ronald Conti, EFD units quickly knocked down the fire. Nassau County Fire Marshals were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
