Binghamton, NY - From a frozen pond in Binghamton to the Ice House Sports Complex, the Battle of the Bravest Charity Hockey Game has brought together a community that has raised and donated $42,167 to cancer research. Thanks to the kindness and commitment of so many great people, the event will continue on Sunday, March 22, 2020.
The Battle of the Bravest has brought together an entire community of firefighters, friends and families with a common goal of giving cancer the boot. One-hundred-percent of all donations collected through the event have been donated to The Retired Professional Fire Fighter's Cancer Fund Inc., an organization started by retired City of Binghamton Firefighter, Bill Newland.
The Retired Professional Fire Fighter's Cancer Fund Inc. is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization committed to raising funds for cancer research programs. Funds are allocated to established programs that seek to impact cancers that have higher occurrence rates among firefighters. Despite these efforts being geared towards "firefighter cancers", everyone will benefit from these efforts because as we all know, cancer does not discriminate.
All are welcome to attend the game, so stop by the Ice House Sports Complex on Sunday, March 22nd at 2:45 P.M., and follow the game at "Battle of the Bravest Charity Hockey Game Community" on Facebook. A charitable monetary donation of your choosing gets you into the event where you can watch the game, get in on raffles and auctions, and spend time in the Fire & Ice Bar and Grill. If you cannot attend the game but wish to donate, visit letsfirecancer.org.
