On October 8, 2024, at 6:10 PM, the Speigletown fire department along with the Pleasantdale Fire Department, Raymertown Fire Department, and Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad was dispatched to 315 Fogerty Road for a structure fire as the caller reported the building to be on fire as he was driving by. As the fire department was being dispatched the good Samaritan Thomas Bristol Jr. stopped his vehicle and jumped into action assisting the resident inside of the home away from the fire.

Speigletown car one arrived on scene and immediately notified the dispatcher that he had fire showing from the front of the structure and transmitted the signal thirty for a working structure fire. The chief had a two-story farmhouse with heavy fire showing from the alpha-bravo side of the structure. Command was able to confirm everybody was out of the structure. The first due apparatus immediately deployed an inch and three-quarter hand line to the front door of the house and called for the pump operator to charge the line. With heavy fire pushing from the bedroom firefighters immediately made entry to the structure and began to make an aggressive interior attack pushing back the heavy fire condition.

Engine ladder thirty-five quickly placed their truck company to the roof of the structure and additional firefighters made their way inside of the structure and conducted a primary search and notified command that inside of the structure was negative and everyone was out of the home. Firefighters continued inside of the structure hitting all of the visible fire knocking it down rapidly. Within 13 minutes firefighters on scene had the entire incident under control and all of the visible fire completely knocked down and interior crews began to conduct extensive overhaul.

County fire investigators were requested to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported and due to the heroic efforts Thomas Bristol Jr all of the occupants in the home were able to make it out safely. Due to the aggressive interior firefighters, crews prevented the fire from spreading to any other portion of the home. Firefighters remained on scene for an extended period of time conducting extensive overhaul of the badly damaged home. Mutual aid companies remained on scene assisting in overhaul operations and picking up the scene so that all units went back into service fire ready.
