PORT JERVIS, NY - Port Jervis Police and Fire Departments, as well as PJ Volunteer Ambulance Corps, responded to an accident at the intersection of East Main and Jersey Avenues on Friday evening, October 7th. PJPD investigated what was a two-car accident at the intersection. Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden said a vehicle traveling east on East Main Street, operated by an 18-year-old male driver, had proceeded to attempt a left turn into Water’s Edge. This caused a frontal collision with a vehicle traveling westerly on East Main Street, driven by a 76-year-old male. The 18-year-old sustained injuries and was transported to Bon Secours Community Hospital for evaluation.
