On Saturday, October 12th 2024, the Holtsville Fire Department hosted a fire prevention open house. The event ran from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Holtsville Fire Department Headquarters. The event featured a wide spread of fire/ems/police equipment on display. Members of the department conducted live demonstrations such as vehicle fire, vehicle extrication, and a kitchen fire. Suffolk County Fire Marshal K9 Chuck also conducted an accelerant demonstration. The Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department Emergency Service Unit, Suffolk County Fire Rescue & Emergency Services were in attendance. The open house was an excellent opportunity for the community to learn about the emergency services the Holtsville Fire Department provides to each member of the community.
