On Saturday October 7th 2023 the Brookhaven Fire Department hosted its annual fire prevention open house. The open house was hosted at Brookhaven Fire Department Station 1 located on Camp Upton Road, Shirley, New York. Live demonstrations were conducted included drone demonstration, stove fire, vehicle extrication, vehicle fire, fire extinguisher usage. Suffolk County Sheriff Office, Suffolk County Highway Patrol, Suffolk County Fire Marshals attended the open house.
