NEWBURGH, NY - Good Will FD responded to a reported structure fire at 32 Fifth Ave. on October 12th. Car 2 arrived and requested a second-alarm sounded, bringing in Winona Lake, Cronomer Valley, Newburgh's FAST, and Coldenham's FAST to the scene.
Firefighters used hand lines to knock the fire down. At the 10 minute status check there was water on the fire with exposure issues. Winona Lake set up the master stream on their Ladder Truck. At the 20 minute status check, three lines were in operation and there was a request to Central Hudson for a power cut.
Town of Newburgh EMS and Police Dept. were at the scene. Orange Lake FD was called to stand by in Good Will quarters. Deputy Orange County Fire Coordinator 36-13 requested Orange County Fire Investigators to the scene. The source of the fire was undetermined, and an investigation continued by the Orange County Fire Inspector's Office.
