NEWBURGH, NY - Newburgh FD responded to a school bus vs. vehicle MVA on October 11th at Broadway and Wisner Ave. City of Newburgh Police Officers were at the scene and diverted traffic away. Empress EMS transported one subject from the school bus to Montefiore-St. Luke's Hospital. Firefighters stretched a hand line due to gas leaking from the vehicle. Students on board the school bus were evaluated by EMS and escorted to an awaiting bus. Fire Command notified DEC of the gas leak. The FD stood by until tow trucks arrived. The City of Newburgh Police Dept. is investigating the cause.
