Around 9pm Sunday September 8th the Luzerne County Shickshinny fire department and ambulance were dispatched for a person laying in the roadway unresponsive. When units arrived the patient was unresponsive but breathing with head trauma. Lehigh Valley Medevac was dispatched to the Shickshinny ambulance building for a landing zone. Once the helicopter landed and patient was stabilized they loaded the level 1 trauma patient into the helicopter and were taken to the closets trauma center for the highest care. The accident is currently under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police and at this time the patient is in serious conditions.
