EAST MARION, NY - On the evening of Saturday, August 10th, the East Marion Fire Department held a celebration to commemorate an extraordinary milestone of years of service. The East Marion Fire Department, located on eastern Long Island, had formed in the year 1899, making it 125-years-old in the year 2025.
The milestone evening kicked off with a parade of fire apparatus and members marching down Main Road to the firehouse grounds. This parade was of course led by none other than the birthday department of East Marion and its chiefs office Chief of Dept. Carol Miller, 1st Asst. Chief Jayson Doucett and 2nd Asst Chief Ryan Weingart. The East Marion Fire Department was joined by neighbors like Cutchogue, Flanders and Greenport and more just to name a few of the 20-plus fire departments in attendance. In addition to that, departments from the western areas of Suffolk and Nassau also joined the celebration.
After the parade was over, the celebration did not end. The department invited everyone to join them for live music, refreshments and much more. There were also T Shirts on sale because everyone loves a fire department shirt! Towards the end of the night, there was even a drone light show. We would like to congratulate the East Marion Fire Department on 125 amazing years of service and wish them luck in their next 125.
