AURELIUS, NY — August 17, 2026 — On Monday morning, the Aurelius Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Turnpike Road between Blanchard Road and Laraway Road.

When firefighters got at the scene at around 7:34 a.m., they discovered two cars with significant front-end damage.

Engine 2, Rescue 2, Squad 2, Car 2, and Car 3 were Aurelius's response. According to the department, Auburn City Ambulance took one patient to Upstate University Hospital while Cayuga Ambulance refused to treat the second driver.

Both the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police arrived at the scene. The crash occurred on a section of Turnpike Road that connects with both Blanchard Road and Laraway Road in the Town of Aurelius. Cayuga County's road mapping confirms the locations of Turnpike Road, Blanchard Road and Laraway Road within the area.
