Mastic Beach N.Y. – On Sunday August 15th at about 8:40am Mastic Beach Fire Department and Ambulance Company were activated for a report of a house fire in vicinity of111 Dahlia Dr between Cedar rd E and Neigborhood Rd . First to respond to the scene was Assistant Chief Jeff McGown (5-13-31). Upon the arrival smoke and flames were visible near the chimney area of the house and a working fire was transmitted. The. Mastic Beach FD was reactivated by county for a signal 13-35 (working structure fire ) and mutual aid was started out from Mastic to the scene and Brookhaven to standby. Firefighters from mastic beach were able to Quickly stretch a line and knock down the fire. Mutual aids were cancelled an all units were back in service in under an hour.
