PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS TOWNSHIP, NJ - At approximately 5:00 p.m. on August 28, Parsippany Fire District 1 (Mount Tabor) and Parsippany PD were dispatched to Cedarbrook Condominiums, 2350 Route 10, for a fire alarm.
Upon arrival, under command of Captain Lou Ferdinandi, alarms were sounding in building A and a smell of smoke was detected from unit 27. Firefighters forced entry into the unit and encountered a smoke condition. The assignment was upgraded to put District 3 (Lake Parsippany) on standby and have Par-Troy EMS (EMS 1) cover EMS operations.
An 1.75" handline was stretched into the unit and upon investigating, there was fire discovered in the bathroom wall, where it was reported that pipe work was done earlier in the day. The wall and tub were removed to extinguish the fire and confirm that there was no extension.
There were no injuries reported. Parsippany Fire Prevention, Parsippany Police, and Parsippany Construction Dept. responded to investigate.
All units were available at 6:30 p.m.
