Marine Unit Assists in Swimmer Rescue Response While Engine Covers Regional Duty

Riverton, NJ - On August 24, 2026 in Burlington County, Riverton Fire Department units including Marine 241, Utility 2418, Engine 2412, and Command responded to the Delran/Delanco area for a reported swimmer in distress.


Marine 241 was deployed to assist with search operations on the water, supporting efforts to locate and assist the individual in distress. At the same time, additional departmental manpower was utilized to staff Engine 2412, ensuring continued fire protection coverage and regional availability during the incident.


This dual-role response allowed the department to simultaneously support active rescue operations while maintaining readiness for other emergency calls within the coverage area.


The coordinated deployment highlighted the importance of marine rescue capability and effective resource management during water-based emergencies.
