At 3:42 p.m. on July 28, the Windham Fire Department was called to a collision involving a box truck on Interstate 93 heading north close to the weigh station. The motorist was stuck, according to an off-duty Windham firefighter who reported the collision. When Chief McPherson got there, he discovered a FedEx box truck in the median on its side. To get the driver, firefighters removed the windshield using a glass cutter that ran on batteries. With non-life-threatening injuries, the person was extricated and taken to Parkland Medical Center.
