Mastic, N.Y.- On August 9th, 2024, the Suffolk County Emergency Communications Center received a call for a report of a vehicle crash on Riverside Dr. at Mastic Rd located near the Handy Pantry of Mastic. The Suffolk Police Department dispatched a Patrol car from the 7th precinct to the scene. Mastic Fire Assistant Chief Rudy Sunderman responded to the chief’s investigation call as well as members of Mastic Ambulance. On arrival it appeared that a person on a motorized scooter was tapped by a vehicle. Suffolk Police interviewed all parties, and it was also determined by fire officials that no further FD resources would be needed. The rider was checked by Mastic EMS and refused further medical assistance. All FD and EMS units were back in service relatively quickly. SCPD remained on scene with the parties.
