KINGSTON, NY - On July 17th, during a severe thunderstorm, the Kingston FD responded to a reported lightning strike at 2 Sterling Street. On arrival it was confirmed that lightning struck a large chimney at the brush factory building at 6:08 P.M. Kingston's ladder truck responded and firefighters went to the roof to check the chimney. Deputy Fire Chief Matthew Koch said a report was given to the city's building safety division for further investigation.
