Milford firefighters fought this extensive stump pile/brush fire on August 15, 2020. Crews responded for smoke in the area of the Milford bypass and quickly discovered that it was a large stump pile that also started a brush fire. Chief Flaherty arrived on scene and struck a second alarm bringing in multiple mutual aid tankers and forestry trucks. The Chief also requested heavy machinery to pull apart the pile. Crews remained on scene for a few hours extinguishing the fire.
